NEW ACCESS ROAD AT HILLEND WILL BE OPEN ON SUN 11 JULY 2010

Construction of the new Airdrie to Bathgate rail-link is now well underway. Although there has been some disruption to our activities 90% of the loch can still be used by anglers outwith working hours. Unfortunately the South of the loch (roadside) cannot  be accessed across the cycletrack during working hours. Anyone who intends to visit the loch please go to the fishing lodge for latest information as our Health & Safety Policy changes as the work progresses.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause but we have to adhere to Health & Safety Regulations.

 Any anglers in breach of any restrictions to access will be reprimanded by the committee.

N.B The Southside of the loch can be accessed only after working hours and weekends providing no contractors are at work.

 NEW ACCESS ROAD TO NORTH SIDE

Work on a new road from Eastfield Road to two new carparks on the northside of the loch is now in the process of being constructed . The club has leased land from the Forestry Commission to construct this new road to enable anglers easy access to the Shields Burn area of the loch. This access is exclusively for use by permit holders which will be issued by the club and will be controlled by use of a gate. Anglers using this road must close the gate behind them to block unauthorised entry. A set of rules will be drawn up to cover all issues which are contained in our lease with the Forestry Commission.
